Here are the rules:
1. Link the person(s) who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers’ blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Six unspectacular quirks:

1. I never use an alarm clock, and never will. If I don’t wake up naturally, I sleep until I do. This is one reason I cannot work day shifts.

2. I am a compulsive reader and writer. I am also a compulsive eater, and that’ not as healthy.

3. I do not wear clothes with any kind of advertising, brand logo, cartoon or message.

4. I love Lapsang Souchong tea. I’ve never met anyone else who can stand even the smell of it.

5. I still think about horses every day, though I haven’t ridden in twenty years. I still watch horse videos, and imagine myself galloping across a field.

6. I hate ball sports. That means football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and any other ball sport not mentioned.

About Marahm

At first glance, I may appear to be a middle-aged American woman with kids, grandkids, a job in a hospital, and the responsibilities that come with all of that. Behind the image, which is true enough, I am fairly unhinged from much of American mainstream living, having spent twelve years in Saudi Arabia, years that sprung me from societal and familial impositions of narrow bands of truth. I have learned to embrace my sense of identity as a seeker, an artist, and a writer. I study Arabic and Italian language, because I love them, and I love their people, and I plan to spend more time in both the Middle East and Italy after I retire. I am a photographer. I write, and sometimes publish, flash memoir, and now a blog or two.

I love horse riding too. But i was not a horse rider. I also like basketball and voleyball and i used to play them since childhood.
Now i just do hiking. lol

  2. Marahm says:

Hiking is a very healthy activity, and can be done as one gets older. I love walking through natural settings. There is a nature preserve near my home; sometimes I go there just to walk.

I suck at such tags. Can’t think of what to write! You on the other hand have interesting quirks:)
We have something in common, I also do not use the alarm clock.

  4. Aafke says:

Marahm and Shahrzad, don’t forget riding recumbent bikes! Very suitable for people with backproblems!

It is clear that you are infected with the ”horse-bug” no way that is ever going to change. The only way to stop the dreams is to start riding again. 🙂

Ah! now I know what a pingback is, and the next step is to learn how to do it. Welcome, Juli.

  8. WM says:

Marahm, what kind of things do you read/write?

  9. darvish says:

Very quirky 🙂 So you like boxing?

    Ya Haqq!

  10. Marahm says:

darvish: Boxing! Verbally, perhaps, and then only rarely.

WM: I write personal memoir. My current favorite reading subjects are Italian literature and Depth Psychology. I don’t read fiction any more, unless it’s Naguib Mahfouz or someone of that caliber.

  11. Aafke says:

*of that caliber*? That sounds rather snooty, 😉 after all you read my blog too, don’t you 🙂 ??? 😕 !!!! 😀

  12. Aafke says:

    Wauw!!! love your new heading!!!

  13. Marahm says:

Thanks, Aafke. Now that I’m more comfortable in the blog environment, I decided to start using my own photo-art This photo was a dull, drab mistake until I played with it in the photo-editing program that came preloaded on my laptop.

So I sound snooty? That’s nice! You’re in good company here –but you already knew that, no?

  14. Aafke says:

    Moi? Snooty???
    Fi donc! Quelle horreur!
    Pas du tout!
    😆

That banner is really cool! And usually I don’t like too much mucking about with photoshop, but this is a magical landscape and I like it very much!
